17:3233      Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College; mission, management, and operation

 

A. (1) The Northwest Louisiana Technical College is hereby renamed as the Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College and shall continue to serve as a multi-campus public postsecondary education institution. The institution and its programs shall remain under the supervision and management of the Board of Supervisors of Community and Technical Colleges, subject to the appropriate approval of and oversight by the Board of Regents. 

 

(2) The institution’s mission is hereby expanded to include providing a comprehensive educational program that meets the needs of the students and communities within its primary service delivery area. Such program may include career and technical education and training, workforce development training, adult basic education, continuing education, general education, associate degree programs, college transfer degree programs, and other educational programs and opportunities. 

 

B. The Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College may grant certificates, diplomas, associate degrees, and associate transfer degrees as authorized by the Board of Supervisors of Community and Technical Colleges and the appropriate regional accrediting body as recognized by the United States Department of Education. 

 

C. The Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College shall provide educational programs and services through its campuses and through any campus that is part of the college or its primary service delivery area. 

 

D. The Board of Supervisors of Community and Technical Colleges and the Board of Regents shall work closely with the Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College and the appropriate accrediting body to ensure that the institution and all program offerings are fully accredited.
