AUTHORITY

 

 

The St. Martin Parish School Board is responsible for the operation, and appraisal of public education within the parish boundaries of St. Martin.  The Board has the authority to determine and establish written policies and to evaluate their effectiveness regarding the efficient operations of the school district.  The function of the School Board is to adopt those steps necessary to ensure that schools within its district are operated in the best interests of the children and citizens.  The School Board may also promulgate recommendations and regulations for its own government not inconsistent with state or federal law or with the regulations of the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE), as it may deem proper.
