ST. MARTIN PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

DECEMBER 19, 2018 – 5:00 P.M.

BREAUX BRIDGE, LOUISIANA

M I N U T E S

The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present:  Messrs., Burton Dupuis, President, Steve Fuselier, Aaron Flegeance, James Blanchard, Russel C. Foti, Frederic Stelly, Floyd Knott, and Mrs. Wanda B. Vital.    

ABSENT:          Mr. Richard Potier and Mr. Mark Hebert

The meeting was called to order by Burton Dupuis, President. 

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board went into Executive Session.

            ABSENT:          Mr. Potier and Mr. Hebert

            On the motion of Mr. Foti, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and unanimously carried, the Board came out of Executive Session.

            ABSENT:          Mr. Potier

            A motion was made by Mr. Foti and seconded by Mrs. Vital to accept the contractor’s offer of 50% of the retained amount for liquidated damages for the construction project at Cecilia High School.

            A substitute motion was made by Mr. Hebert and seconded by Mr. Knott to retain 75% of the liquidated damages amount for the construction project at Cecilia High School.  The substitute motion was then voted on and failed, as follows:

            FOR:    Mr. Stelly, Mr. Knott, and Mr. Hebert

OPPOSED:       Mr. Fuselier, Mrs. Vital, Mr. Flegeance, Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Foti, and Mr. Dupuis

ABSENT:          Mr. Potier

The original motion was then voted on and carried, as follows:

FOR:                Mr. Fuselier, Mrs. Vital, Mr. Flegeance, Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Foti, Mr. Dupuis, and Mr. Knott

OPPOSED:       Mr. Stelly

ABSTAINED:         Mr. Hebert

ABSENT:          Mr. Potier

            On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Foti, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
