M I N U T E S
The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present: Messrs., Burton Dupuis, President, Steve Fuselier, Aaron Flegeance, James Blanchard, Russel C. Foti, Richard Potier, Frederic Stelly, Floyd Knott, and Mark Hebert.
ABSENT: Mrs. Wanda B. Vital
On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and unanimously carried, the Board approved option 1 with regard to the Student and Athletic Insurance, which is to switch to Bollinger, premiums increase $2,736 and benefits include:
a) Accident Medical Maximum increases from $25,000 to $5,000,000
b) Benefit Period increases from 1 year to 10 years
c) Catastrophic Benefit now covers all students in addition to athletes and has no deductible, last year there was a $25,000 deductible on the catastrophic benefit

On the motion of Mr. Flegeance, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request for permission to advertise and employ the High School EOC Summer 2018 Remediation Teachers.

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board approved authorizing A&E to take proposals on SMP/SMHS Parking, Drives and Drainage project. Project is being funded by 2016 SMP/SMHS Construction
Funds.
ABSENT: Mrs. Vital
On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding Breaux Bridge High School Bleachers project to the low quoter, Hahn Enterprises, in the amount of $92,887. Quotes were received May 9, 2018 project is being funded by 2016 BBHS Construction Funds. Project construction budget is $150,000.

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Potier, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding Breaux Bridge High School Gym Ceiling & Floor project to the low quoter, Acadiane’ Renovations, in the amount of $149,500. Quotes were received May 9, 2018 and project is being funded by 2016 BBHS Construction Funds. Project construction budget is $150,000.

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Potier, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding Breaux Bridge High School Administration Area and Security Improvements project to the low quoter, Acadiane Renovations, Ltd., in the amount of $147,100. Quotes were received on May 15, 2018 and project is being funded by remaining 2013 BBHS funds and 2016 BBHS Construction Funds. Project construction budget is $154,500.

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Hebert, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding Cecilia Jr High Cafeteria Asbestos Abatement project to the low quoter, Asbestos Tech, LLC, in the amount of $14,934. Quotes were received on May 15, 2018 and project is being funded by 2016 CJH Construction Funds.
ABSENT: Mrs. Vital
On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent, Board President and Board Vice President to award St. Martinville Primary Administration Renovations project to the low bidder if within the project budget of $600,000. Bids are being received May 17, 2018 and the project is being funded by 2016 SMP Construction Funds.

On the motion of Mr. Foti, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding St. Martinville Primary Administration Asbestos Abatement project to the low quoter, American Pollution Control Corp., in the amount of $8,855. Quotes were received on May 15, 2018 and project is being funded by 2016 SMP Construction Funds.
ABSENT: Mrs. Vital
On the motion of Fuselier, seconded by Mr. Foti, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding St. Martinville High School Band/Library Renovations project to the low quoter, R.S. Bernard & Associates, in the amount of $148,700. Quotes were received May 9, 2018 and project is being funded by 2016 SMHS Construction Funds.
Project construction budget is $150,000.
ABSENT: Mrs. Vital
On the motion of Mr. Potier, seconded by Mr. Stelly, and unanimously carried, the Board approved accepting Change Order Request #2 and #3 for Breaux Bridge High Renovations for a total of $30,645.38 for equipment/furniture moving over the summer to accommodate renovations. Funding will be from 2016 BBJH Construction Funds.
ABSENT: Mrs. Vital
On the motion of Mr. Potier, seconded by Mr. Stelly, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
