ST. MARTIN PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

NOVEMBER 8, 2017 – 5:00 P.M.

BREAUX BRIDGE, LOUISIANA

M I N U T E S

The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present:  Messrs., Burton Dupuis, President, Aaron Flegeance, James Blanchard, Russel C. Foti, Richard Potier, Frederic Stelly, Floyd Knott, Mark Hebert, and Ms. Wanda B. Vital.

ABSENT:          Mr. Steve Fuselier

Dr. Lottie P. Beebe, Superintendent, opened the meeting with a prayer and the pledge of allegiance.

Ms. Phyllis Landry, Supervisor of Elementary Education, presented the 2017 District and School Performance results to the Board.

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding JCEP Sitework Upgrades project to the low quoter, JC Construction, LLC, in the amount of $37,000.00.  Quotes were received on November 8, 2017.  The project is being funded by 2013 Bond Parishwide Demolition Funds.

ABSENT:          Mr. Fuselier

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding substantial completion for Breaux Bridge Jr. High Gym Renovations.

ABSENT:          Mr. Fuselier

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Hebert, and unanimously carried, the Board approved awarding Cecilia High School Football Field Site Prep and Drainage Improvements project to the low bidder, JC Construction, LLC, with a base bid of $1,929,000.00 and alternate #1 of $96,735.00 for a total bid of $2,025,735.00.  Bids were received on November 8, 2017.  The project is being funded by 2016 Bond CHS Construction Funds.

ABSENT:          Mr. Fuselier

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Hebert, and unanimously carried, the Board approved to accept the recommendation regarding the Breaux Bridge High School and Cecilia High School Track and Football Field Upgrades project to modify the project scope and to re-advertise the project in an attempt to obtain a bid below budget.

ABSENT:          Mr. Fuselier

On the motion of Mr. Foti, seconded by Mr. Stelly, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
