ST. MARTIN PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

SEPTEMBER 25, 2013 – 5:00 P.M.

BREAUX BRIDGE, LOUISIANA

MINUTES

 

 

The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present: Messrs., Floyd Knott, President, Steve Fuselier, Russel C. Foti, James Blanchard, Robert E. Hollier, Richard Potier, Frederic Stelly, Mark Hebert, and Ms. Wanda Babin.

 

ABSENT:              Mr. Aaron Flegeance

 

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Foti, and unanimously carried, the Public Hearing was opened and closed.

 

ABSENT:              Mr. Flegeance

 

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Foti, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Finance Committee recommendation for adoption of budget for general and special revenue funds for the year ending June 30, 2014.

 

ABSENT:              Mr. Flegeance

 

On the motion of Mr. Foti, seconded by Mr. Stelly, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the recommendation of administration for the acceptance of bids on Steamers to Alack Refrigeration Co. in the amount of $18,276.00 per unit (3 units to be purchased).

 

ABSENT:              Mr. Flegeance

 

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and unanimously carried, the Board went into Executive Session.

 

On the motion of Mr. Stelly, seconded by Ms. Babin, and unanimously carried, the Board came out of Executive Session.

 

ABSENT:              Mr. Flegeance

 

A motion was made by Mr. Blanchard and seconded by Mr. Fuselier to follow the recommendation of the administration regarding Students A-C.

 

A substitute motion was made by Mr. Potier to give Students A-C the same punishment as the other kids.  The substitute motion died for lack of a second.

The original motion was then voted on and unanimously carried.

 

ABSENT:              Mr. Flegeance

 

A motion was made by Mr. Blanchard and seconded by Mr. Hebert to follow the recommendation of the administration regarding Student D.

 

A substitute motion was made by Mr. Potier to give the student a nine (9) day out-of- school suspension.  The substitute motion died for lack of a second.

 

The original motion was then voted on and unanimously carried.

 

ABSENT:              Mr. Flegeance

 

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Hebert, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
