MINUTES
The St. Martin Parish School Board convened on this day at 5:00 P.M. at the Breaux Bridge Instructional Center with the following members present: Messrs. Floyd Knott, Mark Hebert, James Blanchard, Steve Fuselier, Frederic Stelly, and Mrs. Barbara Latiolais and Ms. Wanda Babin.
ABSENT: Mr. Rodney Ledoux, Mr. Aaron Flegeance, and Mr. Richard Potier
In the absence of the Board President, Mr. Steve Fuselier, Vice-president of the Board, called the meeting to order. Superintendent Lavergne opened the meeting with a prayer and the pledge of allegiance.
Ms. Elizabeth Berard, Secretary of Curriculum and Instruction, was recognized as the Taylor and Sons November Employee of the Month.
Superintendent Lavergne presented plaques to the two outgoing Board Members.

On the motion of Mr. Stelly, seconded by Mr. Potier, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following consent agenda items:
Finance Committee recommendations:
$20,000 Loan to St. Martinville High School for Improvements to Softball Facility
Increase the transportation charges for field trips from $1.00 to $2.00 per mile
Sales Tax requests:
Approval of request from Nature’s Sunshine Products for waiver of sales tax penalty
Denial of request from Dell marketing LP for waiver of sales tax penalty
Bid recommendation on tires in the approximate amount of $44,949.44 to Area Wholesale Tire
Price quote for van for Maintenance Department in the amount of $22,900 to Courtesy Ford Lincoln
Driver’s Education Program for the 2010-11 School Year
Memorandum of Understanding agreement with Cecil J. Picard Center for District License for WELNET Software

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Blanchard, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Minutes of the following meetings:

On the motion of Mr. Potier, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and unanimously carried, the Board approved adopting a resolution authorizing the advertising for bids for the purchase of $10,000,000 of General Obligation School Bonds, Series 2011, of St. Martin Parish School District, Louisiana, authorized at an election held on Saturday, April 4, 2009, and providing for other matters in connection therewith (attached as Exhibit A).

The Board discussed trips made by Board Members to conferences and meetings.
On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mrs. Latiolais, and unanimously carried, the Board approved to suspend the rules pertaining to items placed on the agenda by Board Members.

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Blanchard, and unanimously carried, the Board approved for the School Board Attorney to draft a resolution for all school systems, public and non-public, to accept disciplinary actions of school boards.
