MINUTES
The St. Martin Parish School Board convened on this day at 5:00 P.M. at the Breaux Bridge Instructional Center with the following members present: Messrs. Floyd Knott, Mark Hebert, James Blanchard, Steve Fuselier, Richard Potier, Rodney Ledoux, and Mrs. Barbara Latiolais and Ms. Wanda Babin.
ABSENT: Mr. Aaron Flegeance and Mr. Frederic Stelly
In the absence of the Board President, Mr. Steve Fuselier, Vice-president of the Board, called the meeting to order. Superintendent Lavergne opened the meeting with a prayer and the pledge of allegiance.
Consider and/or approve the several resolutions indicating the authorized signatures on school accounts was removed from the consent agenda.
The Board Member’s request relative to the hiring of a police officer for Board meetings was removed from the agenda.
Mr. Percy Williams, custodian at Breaux Bridge Elementary, was recognized as the Taylor and Sons June Employee of the Month.
Mr. William Angelle, custodian at Cecilia High, was recognized by Horace Mann Insurance as the perfect attendance winner.
On the motion of Mr. Fuselier, seconded by Mr. Blanchard, and unanimously carried, the item regarding the litigation and negotiations in the matter of Leland Landry, et al vs. St. Martin Parish School Board, et al Case No.: 67668-C; 16th JDC, Parish of St. Martin was removed from the agenda.
ABSENT: None
On the motion of Mr. Potier, seconded by Mr. Hebert, and unanimously carried, discuss letter from Attorney Funderburk was added to the agenda.
On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Hebert, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the consent agenda, as follows:

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Blanchard, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the several resolutions indicating the authorized signatures on school accounts.
On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mrs. Latiolais, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the change in Policy DJAA authorized signatures with regard to School Board accounts and to adopt related resolutions.
On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and unanimously carried, the Board approved changes to the 2010-2011 St. Martin Parish Pupil Progression Plan.
On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mrs. Latiolais, and carried, the Board approved a resolution to schedule a tenure hearing.
Board Member Richard Potier requested the test scores and information regarding the Save the Children Program for Breaux Bridge Elementary School.
The Board read the letter received by Attorney Funderburk. No action was taken.
On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mrs. Latiolais, and carried, the Board made a motion to go into Executive Session.
OPPOSED: Mr. Potier
The Board withdrew the motion to go into Executive Session.
On the motion of Mr. Fuselier, seconded by Mr. Hebert, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Professional Personnel Changes:

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Potier, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request for extra employment pay for Corita Andrus, Cabrini Benoit, Beverly Bonhomme, Dana Broussard, Brenda Davis, Mary Jo Franciol, Dawn Frederick, and Niki Thibodeaux for Cecilia Primary’s After-Care Program for month of May, 2010.
Superintendent Lavergne informed the Board Daniel LeBoeuf was his recommendation for the position of Principal at Breaux Bridge Senior High School. A motion was made by Mr. Knott and seconded by Mrs. Latiolais to appoint Mr. Daniel LeBoeuf as the Principal of Breaux Bridge Senior High School. The motion was then voted on and failed as follows:

OPPOSED: Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Fuselier, Mr. Potier, Mr. Ledoux, and Ms. Babin
ABSTAINED: Mr. Stelly
Superintendent Lavergne informed the Board Renee Angelle was his second recommendation for the position of Principal at Breaux Bridge Senior High. On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Potier, and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. Renee Angelle as Principal of Breaux Bridge Senior High School.
Superintendent Lavergne informed the Board Paget Guidry was his recommendation for the position of Assistant Principal at Breaux Bridge Senior High School. On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ms. Paget Guidry as the Assistant Principal of Breaux Bridge Senior High School.
Superintendent Lavergne informed the Board Eileen Rowe was his recommendation for the position of Assistant Principal at Cecilia Junior High School. A motion was made by Mr. Potier and seconded by Mr. Hebert to appoint Ms. Eileen Rowe as the Assistant Principal of Cecilia Junior High School.
A substitute motion was made by Mr. Ledoux and seconded by Mr. Stelly to readvertise for the position of Assistant Principal at Cecilia Junior High School. Mr. Ledoux withdrew his motion.
The original motion was then voted on and unanimously carried.
On the motion of Mr. Fuselier, seconded by Ms. Babin, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
