ST. MARTIN PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

MARCH 19, 2008 – 5:00 P.M.

BREAUX BRIDGE, LOUISIANA

M I N U T E S

The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present: Messrs., Mark Hebert, Floyd Knott, Steve Fuselier, Aaron Flegeance, and Ms. Wanda Babin and Mrs. Barbara Latiolais.  

ABSENT:               Mr. James Blanchard, Mr. Richard Potier, Mr. Rodney Ledoux, and Mr. Frederic Stelly

Superintendent Lavergne opened the meeting with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

On the motion of Mrs. Latiolais, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and carried, the Board went into Executive Session.

OPPOSED:             Mr. Knott

ABSENT:               Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Potier, Mr. Ledoux, and Mr. Stelly

On the motion of Ms. Babin, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board came out of Executive Session.

ABSENT:               Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Potier, Mr. Ledoux, and Mr. Stelly

On the motion of Mr. Fuselier, seconded by Mr. Knott, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the recommendation of the administration regarding Student A, which involves denial of participation in extracurricular activities for a period of nine months.

ABSENT:               Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Potier, Mr. Ledoux, and Mr. Stelly

On the motion of Mr. Flegeance, seconded by Mr. Latiolais, and unanimously carried, the Board approved to reinstate denied credits due to excessive absences for Student B.

ABSENT:               Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Potier, Mr. Ledoux, and Mr. Stelly

On the motion of Mr. Knott, seconded by Ms. Babin, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
