ST. MARTIN PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

DECEMBER 19, 2007 – 5:00 P.M.

BREAUX BRIDGE, LOUISIANA

M I N U T E S

The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present: Messrs., James Blanchard, President, Floyd Knott, Steve Fuselier, Mark Hebert, Richard Potier, Rodney Ledoux, Frederic Stelly, and Ms. Wanda Babin and Mrs. Barbara Latiolais.  

ABSENT:        Mr. Aaron Flegeance

On the motion of Mrs. Latiolais, seconded by Mr. Hebert, and unanimously carried, the Board went into Executive Session.

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mrs. Latiolais, and unanimously carried, the Board came out of Executive Session.

ABSENT:        Mr. Flegeance

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Fuselier, and carried, the Board approved to follow the recommendation of the administration regarding Student A Item 1, which involves suspension with a recommendation for expulsion and attendance at JCEP for a period of twelve (12) weeks.

RECUSED:  Mr. Knott

OPPOSED:      Mr. Potier

ABSENT:        None

A motion was made by Mr. Hebert and seconded by Mr. Fuselier to follow the recommendation of the administration regarding Student A Item 2, which involves allowing the student to return to JCEP.

An amendment to the motion was made by Mr. Potier and seconded by Mr. Ledoux to provide an alternate transportation, if possible.  The amendment was then voted on and carried.

On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Stelly, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
