ST. MARTIN PARISH SCHOOL BOARD
SPECIAL MEETING
JULY 18, 2007 – 5:00 P.M.

M I N U T E S
The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present: Messrs., James Blanchard, President, Floyd Knott, Aaron Flegeance, Mark Hebert, Rodney Ledoux, and Ms. Wanda Babin.
ABSENT: Mr. Steve Fuselier, Mr. Frederic Stelly, Mr. Richard Potier, and Mrs. Barbara Latiolais
On the motion of Mr. Knott, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the settlement of a claim relating to an incident that occurred in August of 2006 for the sum total of $1,093.80, which includes $593.80 in medical bills.
ABSENT: Mr. Fuselier, Mr. Stelly, Mr. Potier, and Mrs. Latiolais
On the motion of Mr. Flegeance, seconded by Mr. Knott, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Intergovernmental Work Crew Agreement for July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, contingent upon the third paragraph being approved by Superintendent Lavergne and the attorney.
ABSENT: Mr. Fuselier, Mr. Stelly, and Mrs. Latiolais
On the motion of Mr. Potier, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board went into Executive Session.
ABSENT: Mr. Fuselier, Mr. Stelly, and Mrs. Latiolais
On the motion of Mr. Hebert, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board came out of Executive Session.
ABSENT: Mr. Fuselier, Mr. Stelly, Mr. Ledoux, and Mrs. Latiolais
A motion was made by Mr. Hebert and seconded by Mr. Flegeance to follow the recommendation of the administration regarding Students K and L, which involves denial of academic credit due to excessive absences.
Mr. Potier made substitute motion to reinstate denied credits for Students K and L. The substitute motion died for lack of a second.
The original motion was then voted on and carried, as follows:
FOR: Mr. Knott, Mr. Flegeance, Mr. Hebert, Ms. Babin
OPPOSED: Mr. Potier
ABSENT: Mr. Fuselier, Mr. Stelly, Mr. Ledoux, and Mrs. Latiolais
A motion was made by Mr. Hebert and seconded by Mr. Knott to follow the recommendation of the administration regarding Students I and J, which involves denial of participation in extracurricular activities.
Mr. Potier made a substitute motion to allow Students I and J to participate in extracurricular activities. The substitute motion died for lack of a second.
The original motion was then voted on and carried.

ABSENT: Mr. Fuselier, Mr. Stelly, Mr. Ledoux, and Mrs. Latiolais
On the motion of Mr. Knott, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request for a zone transfer for Students A-H.
ABSENT: Mr. Fuselier, Mr. Stelly, Mr. Ledoux, and Mrs. Latiolais
On the motion of Mr. Potier, seconded by Mr. Flegeance, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
