ST. MARTIN PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

DECEMBER 13, 2006 – 5:00 P.M.

BREAUX BRIDGE, LOUISIANA

M I N U T E S

The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present: Messrs., Floyd Knott, President, Mark Hebert, James Blanchard, Richard Potier, Rodney Ledoux, Frederic Stelly, Paulma Johnson, and Mrs. Barbara Latiolais.  

ABSENT:        Mr. Steve Fuselier and Mr. Anthony Wiltz

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mrs. Latiolais, and unanimously carried, the Board went into Executive Session.

On the motion of Mr. Ledoux, seconded by Mr. Johnson, and unanimously carried, the Board came out of Executive Session.

ABSENT:        Mr. Fuselier and Mr. Wiltz

A motion was made by Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Potier to allow Student A to remain in school and seek counseling and/or speak to the social worker.

Mr. Hebert made a substitute motion, seconded by Mr. Blanchard, to follow the recommendation of the administration in regard to the Student A, which involves attendance at JCEP for a period of forty-five (45) days.  The substitute motion was then voted on and carried, as follows:

FOR:                Mr. Hebert, Mrs. Latiolais, Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Ledoux, and Mr. Stelly

OPPOSED:      Mr. Potier and Mr. Johnson

ABSENT:        Mr. Fuselier and Mr. Wiltz

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mrs. Latiolais, and carried, the Board approved the settlement in the case of Bridgette Guidry vs. St. Martin Parish School Board, Docket Number 71215 in the amount of $23,000.00.

ABSENT:        Mr. Fuselier and Mr. Wiltz

On the motion of Mr. Ledoux, seconded by Mr. Johnson, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
