ST. MARTIN PARISH SCHOOL BOARD

SPECIAL MEETING

MARCH 15, 2006 – 5:00 P.M.

BREAUX BRIDGE, LOUISIANA

M I N U T E S

The St. Martin Parish School Board met this day with the following members present: Messrs., Floyd Knott, President, Mark Hebert, Steve Fuselier, James Blanchard, Richard Potier, Rodney Ledoux, Paulma Johnson, and Mrs. Barbara Latiolais.

ABSENT:        Mr. Anthony Wiltz and Mr. Frederic Stelly

A motion was made by Mr. Johnson and seconded by Mr. Blanchard to vote on all five students at once, allowing them to participate in senior privileges, including walking in the graduation ceremony in the regular school setting, provided they have successfully completed JCEP.

Mr. Ledoux made a substitute motion, seconded by Mr. Hebert to allow the students that have successfully completed JCEP to walk in the graduation ceremony in the regular school setting, but suspend all students from senior privileges.  The substitute motion was then voted on and failed, as follows:

FOR:                Mr. Hebert and Mr. Ledoux

OPPOSED:      Mr. Fuselier, Mrs. Latiolais, Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Potier, and

                        Mr. Johnson

ABSENT:        Mr. Wiltz and Mr. Stelly

The original motion was then voted on and carried.

OPPOSED:      Mr. Hebert and Mr. Ledoux

ABSENT:        Mr. Wiltz and Mr. Stelly

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Johnson, and unanimously carried, the Board went into Executive Session.

On the motion of Mrs. Latiolais, seconded by Mr. Blanchard, and unanimously carried, the Board came out of Executive Session.

ABSENT:        Mr. Wiltz and Mr. Stelly

On the motion of Mr. Blanchard, seconded by Mr. Johnson, and carried, the Board, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approved to allow the students

discussed in Executive Session to participate in senior privileges, including walking in the graduation ceremony in the regular school setting, provided they have successfully completed JCEP.

ABSTAINED:         Mr. Ledoux

ABSENT:        Mr. Wiltz and Mr. Stelly

On the motion of Mr. Ledoux, seconded by Mr. Potier, and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned.
